Can I Change My Name On A Foreign Passport Using A Deed Poll Issued By You?

We cannot offer a single answer to this question as different countries have different procedures for changing the name on your passport. However, in the past, some clients have reported to us that they have had success in getting a foreign passport amended to show their new name using a Deed Poll issued by us.

If you are the holder of a foreign passport and would like to have it amended to show your new name, we would first recommend that you contact the issuing countries Embassy in London. As they will most likely be the ones issuing your new passport, they are qualified to tell you which supporting documents you will need.

If your countries Embassy are willing to issue you with a passport using a Deed Poll as documentary evidence of your change of name there may also be other requirements that need to be met before they will do so. For example, they may require that your Deed Poll is witnessed by a solicitor who is registered with the Law Society (the regulatory body of solicitors in England and Wales). You should ask your Embassy for a full list of documents required to change the name on your passport when you contact them.
